April 2025 Update: The Ignited Woman Project

Hello friends! It's been a while since my last update on the Ignited Woman project journey. Today I'm sharing a combined March-April reflection as I navigate this path toward my goal of $300/day online.

Let's Start With Some Honesty

I'll begin with what feels uncomfortable but necessary to acknowledge: I didn't make any money from my online business in April. After selling a few Permission to Process guides in March ($100 total), April returned to zero.

And here's the truth that I keep circling back to: I haven't put any offers out there. I haven't promoted the Permission to Process guide that's still sitting on my website. I haven't asked for the sale.

It's embarrassing to admit this pattern, especially when I understand business and know exactly what needs to be done. Is it fear of rejection? Fear of being annoying? Something deeper? I'm still sitting with these questions.

The Aligned Sales Experience

Despite these challenges, April brought an unexpected win that reminded me what aligned selling actually feels like. After discovering an incredible magnesium lotion in late March, I fell in love with its effects and started sharing it with everyone around me.

I got my colleagues at the spa to try it. I had my son test it at home. I sent friends to stores to buy it because I was so excited about its benefits. When I realized the beautiful packaging would work perfectly at our spa, I approached my boss about carrying it.

For the first time in five years, I experienced the feeling of effortlessly selling products inside our spa. It felt natural because I genuinely believed in the product… I'd been recommending it without commission for weeks before we started carrying it.

This experience helped me work through some guilt around making money from recommendations. I realized there's a belief I've been carrying that I'm "more believable" if I'm not financially benefiting from what I share. But why shouldn't I be compensated for introducing people to products that can genuinely improve their lives?

By the third day, I found myself thinking, "I wonder if I could sell some magnesium today?" …. and realized I was actually enjoying the process.

Recommitting to Self-Care

April marked a significant personal commitment: walking 4 miles every morning. This wasn't just about physical health; it became a way of prioritizing myself after years of putting my own needs on the back burner.

There's something powerful about engaging in activities that depend solely on me… not on anyone else's approval, participation, or validation. Unlike building a business (which inherently requires other people to engage with your offers), my walking routine is completely within my control.

This shift toward self-focus has made me reflect on how much I've pushed myself aside in pursuit of building something online. I'm now prioritizing my wellbeing with the belief that the money will follow, rather than the other way around.

Project Progress

While financial growth stalled, there was still forward movement:

  • The Imaginarium Source Book is in the portal, ready to be connected to the Storyscape World Builder journey

  • I've created numerous voice-note blog posts during my morning walks (still needing editing)

  • I've continued my 100 Days of Threads challenge (only 18 days left!)

  • I've gained clarity on exactly who I want to serve: Wellness Practitioners and Product Sellers

Finding My People

One significant insight that's crystallized over these months is understanding exactly who I'm meant to serve. After years of struggling with marketing approaches that never felt authentic, I realized I kept trying to force myself into frameworks designed for different types of businesses.

It wasn't until I discovered the concept of "world building" that my creativity reignited. This is what wellness practitioners and product sellers need – not cookie-cutter marketing tactics borrowed from unrelated industries.

As wellness practitioners, we often leave our field to learn marketing, only to encounter methods that don't align with our values or work styles. We recommend products naturally as part of our practice, yet rarely get compensated for these recommendations. Having experienced both sides as a practitioner and product seller, I see clearly how I can help bridge this gap.

The Reality of Multiple Commitments

Building this business alongside a full-time physical job, a part-time job, and family responsibilities continues to be my biggest challenge. There's a physical reality to exhaustion that no amount of motivation can overcome.

I've had to acknowledge that quality rest isn't optional… it's essential. As much as my mind wants to accelerate this journey, my body requires respect and care.

Moving Forward

As I look toward May, I'm focusing on:

  1. Completing the Storyscape World Builder Journey

  2. Editing and publishing the blog posts I've created during my walks

  3. Finding the courage to consistently put offers out there

  4. Continuing to honor my physical needs while pursuing my goals

The $300/day goal remains, but I'm learning to celebrate smaller wins along the way…. like discovering what aligned selling actually feels like with the magnesium lotion.

A Compassionate Reflection

I'm learning that building something meaningful while honoring your own needs is a delicate balance. The path isn't linear, and the timeline isn't fixed. While I feel embarrassment around not meeting financial goals, I also recognize the growth happening beneath the surface.

Sometimes the most important progress happens in our understanding of ourselves…. our patterns, our barriers, and our true gifts. April may not have brought financial growth, but it delivered priceless insights about aligned selling, self-care, and who I'm truly meant to serve.

As always, I'm sharing both the struggles and the small victories of this journey. What patterns have you noticed in your own projects that might be holding you back? I'd love to hear in the comments.
